As Americans get ready to go to the polls, I’m once again baffled that virtually all of my relatives – together with the vast majority of American Jews – will be pulling the “Democrat” lever.
Rosie O’Donnell, the shy and soft spoken comedian/actress/activist-cum-television morning show host, has come out of her shell. While I do not watch “The View”, I did read Rosie’s comments from the show a few days ago, during which she said that our nation’s response to the killing of 3,000 people in 9/11 was to invade 2 countries and kill innocent people – as if the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were comparable to the atrocity of 9/11. She then ranted that radical Christianity can be just as scary as, if not more scary than, radical Islam – remember the last time Southern Baptist terrorists blew up trains, planes, and automobiles of supposed enemies?
Republican Steve Laffey is challenging incumbent Lincoln Chafee for the right to represent the party in the race for the U.S. Senate. The Republican Establishment, including the President who has been so often spurned by Chafee, has turned out to support him.
