Ah, socialism. The economic destruction and theft of individual liberty are so predictable. So is the public reaction to them, even if it takes a while.
Nearly two-thirds of Americans now think that the federal government is too big and powerful and are dissatisfied with how the government is working.
Gallup released its “Mood of the Nation” poll yesterday, which found that 66% of Americans are “unhappy with the size and power of the federal government.” That number has been the roughly the same for the last three years—after jumping 10 percentage points between 2008 and 2011, also known as the Obama Years. In addition, 65% of Americans “are dissatisfied with the nation’s system of government and how well it works, the highest percentage in Gallup’s trend since 2001.” (See the poll here: http://www.gallup.com/poll/166985/dissatisfied-gov-system-works.aspx )
So, Obama’s stifling statist policies are viewed ever-more negatively, and the vast majority of Americans are increasingly alarmed by the size and power of the federal government. Socialism tends to have that effect.
Viva individual liberty, limited government, fiscal responsibility, and economic freedom! They’ve been put through the ringer by the Skinny Socialist and his band of leftist kooks. Time to bring ‘em on back.
