All during shootout number two with Boston bombing suspect number two on Friday night, I was hoping he would not be taken alive. But the worst case scenario prevailed, and now that he has been captured the liberal coddling will begin.
Actually, it has already started. On “Fox News Sunday” Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein accused Republican Representative Peter King of being an Islamophobe for suggesting the FBI should pay particular attention to Muslim radicals. Who should they be concentrating on Senator Feinstein, Swedish vegetarian radicals? Feinstein also said Dzhokhar Tsarnaev should not be treated as an enemy combatant, and of course he won’t be. For that his name would have to be along the lines of John Smith and he’d have to be part of a white militia group. Or the Tea Party.
No, Rep. King is not an Islamophobe, he’s an “Americans-having-their-rear-ends-blown-off-ophobe.”
With Tsarnaev alive there are easy to predict things we can expect in the days ahead. For one, liberals will condemn the celebrations, flag waving and police congratulating that followed his capture as insensitive to Muslims. Also, President Obama will not utter the word “Muslim” or “Islam” except to remind us that it is a religion of peace. And no matter how much evidence mounts that this is a Muslim act of terror with possible ties to a domestic Islamic cell, he will admonish us again and again to “not jump to conclusions.” Right. The terrorist brothers might have been sent forth from a Daughters of the American Revolution training camp.
The president will also admonish “those who would seek revenge” (meaning Christians, Republicans, conservatives, Tea Party members) against any hostile acts. Should any of the above ilk so much as give a rude look to a Muslim on any street in America it will be headline news resulting in liberal weeping and wailing and candlelight vigils.
Another prediction: Before too long some student somewhere in the country will parade around school all day in a Dzhokhar Tsarnaev T-shirt while a student wearing a T-shirt bearing the American flag will be sent home.
We’re told it’s no problem that Tsarnaev was not read his Miranda rights, that it wasn’t necessary because of “special circumstances.” Really? I’ll believe that when I see the case not thrown out of court. Of course he might not go completely free. Considering the mess caused by the Boston Marathon bombings, Attorney General Eric Holder might nail the perpetrator for misdemeanor littering.
Some say it’s good Tsarnaev was captured alive because now the feds can get information out of him. How, by saying “pretty please?” Certainly not by water boarding. Some other form of enhanced interrogation perhaps? Obama’s definition of enhanced interrogation is “Pretty please with sugar on it.”
I imagine they’re working overtime at the White House, trying desperately to find a YouTube video to blame the bombings on. That, combined with the usual soul searching over what wrongs we as Americans committed to cause this to happen, and how we must change our ways to keep people such as Tsarnaev from being mad at us. Do I sense a finger-wagging, scolding presidential speech on the subject coming up?
Awhile ago I suggested tongue-in-cheek to a friend that maybe Obama should issue an executive order making same sex marriage and abortion mandatory and get it over with. It would save a lot of time and bickering on the road to the inevitable. In a similar vein, perhaps he should mandate that Islam is the country’s official religion and get it over with, the Constitution be damned. Then the Islamic world would love us and we could blissfully live out the rest of our lives free of worry for our safety.
