If the headline were “32 more corpses found in Israeli pits, total at 177,” I think we all know the kind of worldwide outcry there’d be.
Thousands would volunteer for heavily armed “humanitarian flotillas” to fight against the oppressors. Demonstrations would be held. Boycott and divestiture movements would gain steam. Calls for condemnation would echo through the hollowed halls of the United Nations.
But the headline is about the hundreds of bodies piling up at the Mexican border with the United States, so, no such outrage is required.
I’m not sure why that is.
But it is.
I guess hundreds of dead Latinos (and a few vacationing Gringos) are no big deal, or at least not nearly as big a deal as a couple of dead Palestinians.
Judging from the international response, I guess one Palestinian unintentionally caught in the crossfire in a retaliatory strike is a much more terrible loss and a much more serious crime against humanity than hundreds of Latinos intentionally murdered by drug smugglers in Mexico, or Arab protesters in the streets by their own governments. But the world’s Peace & Justice types are too busy condemning Israel for its separation barrier – which, it’s been proven, is saving lives – to find the time to condemn the murders of hundreds of innocent people in Mexico and the Middle East.
Associated Press reported Friday that another 32 bodies have been unearthed from hidden graves in the northeastern border state of Tamaulipas, bringing the total to 177 this month.
Mexico, which it is important to remember, encompasses a good portion of our southern flank, is fast becoming a no-man’s land – Fort Apache, Tijuana – overrun by well-armed homicidal criminals.
It really doesn’t matter what tripe our politicians try to sell us about how safe the borders are, any child can see we’re on the brink of being dragged in a big way, into a shooting war with the Mexican cartels.
Even if our government officials try to ignore the increasingly horrible reality on the ground, the Americans living closest to the northern-creeping front lines of this thing are bound eventually, to defend themselves.
I have a sinking feeling that with the present administration, those defending their families and property from the invaders will be the ones prosecuted, and what a complicated mess that will be.
And even as the situation escalates, any measures taken to try to slow the invaders’ advance, like arresting illegal immigrants who are also criminals in other ways, is called racial profiling, as though this were a bad thing.
I say anyone not using the information one knows for sure in one’s own defense is an idiot and is doomed to lose whatever the battle is.
We are in danger of being brought down by our own political correctness and when we are, the victorious bad guys, be they the Latino drug lords here or the Islamo-Fascists internationally, will not see our attempts at not hurting anyone’s feelings as a virtue, but as the weakens that helped them defeat us.
Meanwhile, evidence of a catastrophe spinning ever more northward and ever more out of control, mounts.
Tamaulipas prosecutors reportedly said in a statement that the latest bodies were found in eight pits discovered during the past week.
“Authorities began exhuming corpses early this month in the town of San Fernando after reports that people were being kidnapped from passenger buses in the area,” the story said. “It is the same region where authorities say the Zetas drug gang killed and buried 72 Central American migrants in August.”
The Zetas are also suspected in the latest massacre, it said.
You know, if you really want to light a fire under someone to get this Mexican problem resolved, just inject the word Jewish, Israeli or Zionist for Zetas or Mexican drug gangs, and you’ll get armed, bloodthirsty volunteers beating a path to your door.
