Happy Valentine’s Day. You may want to grab a box of chocolates, because what I’m about to tell you will otherwise leave a bitter taste in your mouth.
Let’s contemplate the numbers we got bombarded with today.
$3.7 TRILLION. That’s the total cost of President Obama’s new budget, which he dropped on us today. If that amount were divided evenly, each American citizen would receive $12,000.
$1.65 TRILLION. That’s the latest updated estimate of the annual deficit.
$1.5 TRILLION. That’s the amount of tax increases over ten years found in the Bama budget.
$400 BILLION. That’s how much the Bama proposes to cut over ten years. LOL! This shows how fundamentally unserious he is about deficit reduction and slashing the national debt. The Republicans are proposing $100 billion in cuts RIGHT NOW, and as just a down payment on massive future cuts.
$450 BILLION. That’s how much the annual deficit was when the Bama came into office.
$1.65 TRILLION. That’s how much the annual deficit is today. (Did I mention this already?!)
$10.6 TRILLION. That’s how much the national debt was when the Bama became president.
$14.1 TRILLION. That’s how much the national debt is today.
$14.3 TRILLION. That’s the legal limit on the national debt. We’re about to crash into it, bringing us to…
$15.476 TRILLION. That’s the debt level Team Obama says we’ll reach by the end of the year.
$2 TRILLION. That’s the jump in debt we’ll see this year: the biggest in history.
This government is like a drunk boyfriend who, in a stupor, buys you a new car that he can’t afford and thinks he did a great thing.
The only place I want to read the word “TRILLION” again is in articles telling us how much our so-called “representatives” are cutting. Cutting billiions doesn’t cut it.
If they don’t start seriously slashing spending and dealing with our massive budget monsters, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security—not to mention defunding ObamaCare—they will be faced with a citizen movement that will make the Tea Party look like a walk in the park. If they thought the Egyptians in Tahrir Square were serious about change, just wait.
