So, Turkey is still insisting on an apology from Israel for the flotilla incident.
For anyone not familiar, we’re talking about a bunch of ships, filled with violent, anti-Semitic/anti-Israel “activists.” These folks’ stated purpose was to break the blockade imposed on Gaza by Israel and Egypt to try and stop the constant, random rocket fire and other terrorism, but their actual goal was meant to provoke a violent confrontation.
They succeeded in that, resulting in several wounded Israeli soldiers and several dead terrorists, plus some really bad publicity for Israel, which was what they were really after.
It also resulted in some of the most horrific examples of media bias ever recorded, with the discovery of photos that appeared in print that had been doctored to remove knives and clubs from terrorists’ hands and obvious injuries and in one case an entire prone body, of the Israelis who came under attack.
It should be noted that anyone else behaving the way these pro-Palestinian “activists” did would be called terrorists by the media. But, as we have come to know, if the target is Israelis or Jews, there are no terrorists, there are only gunmen, fighters, militants or some other more politically correct though less accurate description.
Though some continue trying to bill these violent extremists as “peace activists,” those familiar with the scene before they left Turkey and with what they did when they were boarded by Israeli authorities, know otherwise.
But anyone needing more evidence need only look at the scene when the ship recently returned to Turkey.
The JTA reports that more than ten thousand gathered to welcome the ship, waving Turkish and Palestinian flags and chanting “Death to Israel,” obviously just the kind of thing chanted by people truly seeking peace. It was, evidently, a lot like the anti-Semitic singing and chanting that went on before the terrorists set sail in May.
These so-called peaceniks prepared steel rods, baseball bats and other weapons in advance of the mission and used them on Israeli soldiers who boarded the boat under the impression they were going to be met by peace activists. They were instead violently confronted, beaten and stabbed.
So, when Israel’s foreign minister says that not only does Israel not owe Turkey an apology, Turkey should apologize to Israel for supporting terrorists, I have to agree.
The incident wouldn’t have happened had the violent confrontation not been planned in advance by the terrorists. In fact a number of similar flotillas were boarded, inspected for weapons and send on their way, before the one in May, and even as part of the one in question. Only on this particular ship — with the “peace activists” – was there a problem.
Obviously this was another propaganda ploy and possibly another example of the radical Muslim willingness to cause mayhem and death even to their own, in the pursuit of dead Jews and public opinion.
