Whether we (and by “we” I mean Jews in particular and the Western world in general) admit it or not, we are engaged in a four-front war for survival.
Not content to take over the planet by attrition in a few generations, the Islamo-Fascist enemy is trying to speed up the process by attacking us economically and psychologically as well as physically in the form of terrorism.
They have no qualms declaring they are at war with us, and we had better respond in kind.
And while most Western nations are in some way trying to address the terrorism front, few are even attempting to defend against, much less fire back in response to, the other three.
I’m not sure which is scarier – the all-out attempt to revise history by writing the Jews out of it, or the international effort to destroy any Jewish or Israeli business – to say nothing of the unsolvable Muslim birth rate problem.
If one is watching, reports come in regularly from each of these fronts, though not everyone recognizes what they’re seeing.
For instance, recently, a Palestinian official claimed the Western Wall, Judaism’s holiest site, is not Jewish at all, but Palestinian. This comes just a month after the attempt to write King David and the Jerusalem Temples out of history completely was handed a measure of legitimacy when 60 Minutes corresponded Lesley Stahl presented a piece that seemed weighted toward the revisionist Arab narrative.
It would be funny were it not for the fact that a certain percentage of people will buy it – decades of archeology and historical record notwithstanding.
Known for centuries to have been the retaining wall of the compound where the two biblical Jewish Temples stood 20 centuries ago, atop the ruins of the so-called “Wailing Wall” is where the Muslims chose to build the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Attempting to dispossess the Jews of their holiest surviving site is the latest salvo in the psychological front in the war against the truth, the Jews and the West.
“This wall has never been a part of what is called the Jewish Temple,” the report claimed. “However, it was Islamic tolerance which allowed the Jews to stand before it and cry over its loss.”
The report concludes, naturally, that since Jews have no claim to the area, it is holy Muslim territory and must be part of Palestinian Jerusalem.
What a surprise.
We need to take this sort of thing more seriously than we do. A recent poll taken in the disputed, Palestinian Arab-controlled territories, shows why.
This poll reveals a majority of Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza view the two-state solution as only a step toward the ultimate goal of destroying Israel in favor one Palestinian state, JTA reports.
The poll, sponsored by The Israel Project, found most Palestinians have no plan or desire to “live side by side in peace with a Jewish state,” as some of their officials claim to Western audiences.
Less than a quarter of those polled accept the idea that “Israel has a permanent right to exist as a homeland for the Jewish people,” but two-thirds believe that “over time Palestinians must work to get back all the land for a Palestinian state.”
Thirty percent agreed “the best goal is for a two-state solution that keeps two states living side by side,” while 60 percent chose “the real goal should be to start with two states but then move it to all being one Palestinian state.”
The truth of the region’s history is easily found, but takes time to research and gobbles up a lot of space in news articles, and many are tiring of repeating the whole story in every news report. But this is a dangerous trend, as evidenced by the way the “disputed territories” became the “occupied territories” after journalists and others succumbed to the constantly repeated “occupation” references. Now, even Israelis call it that.
Fact is, Israel captured east Jerusalem from Jordan in the 1967 Mideast war and annexed it. While under Muslim control, only Muslims could pray there, but after Israel seized the area, it cleared away shacks built near the Western Wall and created a wide, open plaza there. It turned over administration of the hilltop, with the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock, to the Muslim Supreme Council, while maintaining overall security control. Anyone can go there now.
Palestinians, a group which only began identifying itself as a separate ethnicity in the 1960s, claim the area as the capital of their future state, despite all evidence that the city is anciently Jewish.
Coincidentally, within the past few days, the JTA reported that a 1,800-year-old bathing pool was discovered in excavations for construction of a men’s mikveh in Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter.
The pool was part of a bathhouse used by the Roman soldiers who destroyed the Second Temple, according to the Israel Antiquities Authority.
The remains of the ancient Roman bathhouse will be integrated in the new mikveh. Anyone wonder what would become of it had the Palestinians discovered it?
And even as the Palestinian Arab propaganda machine tries to erase the Jews from their own history, they and their supporters and apologists seek to destroy us in other ways.
For instance, also within the past few days, some group planned a boycott of Israeli products Nov. 30. Pro-Israel groups urged an anti-boycott – an effort to buy Israeli goods that day – in response.
JTA reported the groups urged people to go to local stores and request Israeli-made products, particularly those targeted by boycotters, who have lobbied stores like Trader Joe’s and Costco to drop Israeli items.
The enemy is also trying to get people to boycott hummus, of all things.
Popular hummus brands Sabra and Tribe are produced in the United States, but both have reportedly been targets of a campaign by a branch of Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, because of their Israeli parent companies.
Recently, the Princeton Committee on Palestine asked the university to quit selling Sabra on campus. And boycott efforts have reportedly seen some success at DePaul University, which “temporarily stopped the sale of Sabra hummus pending a review,” after a request by the Students for Justice in Palestine, according to a statement issued by the university.
And when they’re not trying to kill Israeli and Jewish enterprise they’re attacking anyone attempting to treat Israel like any other nation and Israelis like normal members of the human race.
For instance, again just recently, a British alternative rock band became the latest to cancel planned Israeli concerts under pressure from Islamo-Fascist, pro-Palestinians.
The Tindersticks cancelled its two shows in Israel, scheduled for Dec. 1 and Dec. 2, reportedly saying that the songs it planned to play at the concerts “have already been tainted and their enjoyment stifled, if not completely drowned out by the political furor.”
Earlier this year, indie band the Pixies, singer Devendra Banhart, alternative rockers Gorillaz, the British band the Klaxons and American soul singer Gil Scott-Heron canceled scheduled concerts in Israel. And in February, rock legend Carlos Santana withdrew from a sold-out performance reportedly due to pressure from pro-Palestinian groups.
And if that weren’t enough, the enemy continues to poison the minds of children everywhere, including in the West.
For instance, yet again, just in the past few days, the BBC reported that Muslim schoolchildren in England are being taught anti-Semitic and homophobic material from a Saudi textbook.
The syllabus used at a network of more than 40 weekend schools reportedly details how the hands and feet are chopped off as punishment for thieves and teaches that the penalty for gay sex is execution. The report also details the books’ inclusion of blatant, base anti-Semitism like “Jews look like pigs and monkeys.”
If the West doesn’t start seriously engaging the enemy on all these fronts, we may be doomed to eventually living under the dark, terrible cloud of Islamo-Fascism in our lifetimes.
I’m afraid that if we continue trying to fight barbarism with politically correct civility, we’re lost.
