The time has come to be real. Teddy bears and wheel chairs do not turn a flotilla organized by IHH, which France’s former top anti-terrorism judge says “clear, long-standing ties to terrorism and Jihad” into a humanitarian mission. Nor does the shameless willingness of large number of prominent European and American leftists to help Hamas and the IHH to scuttle the start of American led Israeli Palestinian proximity talks into a humanitarian mission and distract attention from the damning IAEA report on Iran change the Jihadist nature of the flotilla mission.

Israel delivers massive aid to Gaza. Those unconvinced by Hamas’ current refusal to accept the “humanitarian” cargo, should listen to the interview with a martyr wannbe and read about the wills prepared by Islamist passengers hoping to die. It is the type provocation well known to police everywhere.

This was another mission designed to provoke Israel to kill those wishing to commit suicide. Realizing that cursing and spitting on Israeli soldiers would fail to do the trick, they prepared metal pipes and knives and trained Jihadists in their use. For 40 minutes surprised Israeli struggled to deny them their wish. They failed.  Nine shaheed wannabes aided by “humanitarian activists” Probably got their wish. We are sure about at least three. 

Next we are going to have terrorist organizations such as the IHH chartering planes, filling them up with European parliament members seeking to land in Guantanamo. Clearly, these supposedly “do gooders” know no shame. Nor have they any qualms about sailing under the auspices of an organization involved in Al Qaeda’s attempt to blow up LAX that the non Islamic Turkish government did not even trust to engage in earthquake relief.  To borrow a phrase from an Istanbul-based analysts Gareth Jenkins, the ship was filled with Jihadists and those who “would help Jihadists get to places they wanted to go” including the land where 72 virgins are supposed to await them.

Of course, the new Islamist Turkish government has no such qualms. The Ottoman Turks used to head the Khalifat and it was secular Mustafa Kemal Atatürk who enraged Islamists by abolishing it in 1924. Reconstituting the Khalifat has been a long standing Islamist goal and Turkey is ruled by an Islamist party. Already there is talk of Recep Tayyip Erdogan replacing the never forgotten Gammal Abd’l Nasser. Michel Nawfal, the author of “The Return of Turkey to the Orient” notes:

 

The growing involvement of Turkey and its engagement in favor of the Palestinians, as well as the uncompromising positions of Erdoğan, have led the Arab street to consider him like a new (Gamal Abdel) Nasser. . . . Turkey is no longer considered the Trojan horse of the West in the region.

Let us not forget that Nasser was not merely a pan Arab nationalist. He always spoke of three concentric circles - Egyptian, Arab and Muslim. Erdogan has always been an Islamist though he has pretended to set his Islamism aside to gain political power within the Turkish state. But his Islamism is reemerging in his identification with Hamas and in backing openly the previously scorned terrorist IHH.

Erdogan is bringing you down the wrong road. He knew Israel would stop the ships. He is doing this on behalf of Iran, to delay sanctions against Iran, and to boost AK party going down. Don’t let the great Turkish country fall to the taliban and Iranian style of government. Salam

He is right about the stakes. The flotilla has never been about humanitarian aid and the presence of misguided/cynical “humanitarian activists” does not turn it into one. It has always been about aiding and abetting Islamists bid for power in the Muslim world. Islamists view freedom and democracy, most especially its representative in the Middle East, Israel as roadblock to their achieving their goal. Hence, Israel has to be eliminated.

Yes, Israel botched this battle but that should not blind us from the true nature of the war and the meaning of the battle around the IHH flotilla.
