If they build it, they win

I am appalled nearly to the point of speechlessness by the very idea that someone would even suggest building a mosque two blocks from “Ground Zero” in Manhattan.

The chutzpah, is unbelievable.

And, even more galling, the movement to build a giant 13-story shrine to the folks who brought you 9/11, at the very site of their treacherous attack, has found an ally in New York’s (Jewish) Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who should be ashamed of himself.

One argument coming from the Islamists and their apologists, is that the “Muslim population wants to move on from the 9/11 attacks,” according to The Arab American.

Do they, really?

Another argument is that permitting a mosque to be erected there is a sign of American tolerance and greatness – an obvious crock spewed by people playing on our self-defeating political correctness for their own nefarious purposes.

It’s not unlike the way they used our freedoms to come to this country, live among us for years, take the classes we offer, then get on our planes one day and fly them into our buildings.

Can’t everyone see that what the Muslims are trying to do, is what Muslims through the ages always have done – create a monument to mark their having conquered a culture?

It has long been Islamic practice to convert whatever had been on a conquered piece of real estate, into a mosque, which is precisely what they plan this time.

In this case, according to reports, the 1857 building they’re going after – one badly damaged in the 9/11 attacks – is historically significant.

It is the same mindset that brought you, among so many others, the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on the site of Solomon’s Temple.

According to the New World Encyclopedia the “conversion of non-Muslim houses of worship into mosques began during the life of Muhammad, who turned the pagan sanctuary of Kaaba into a mosque, and continued during subsequent Islamic conquests and under the Muslim rule.”

“As a result, numerous churches, synagogues, Zoroastrian and Hindu temples became Muslim places of worship,” the encyclopedia says. It also says that Islamic law dictates that non-Muslims must “not continue to use their places of worship for their intended purposes if they are conquered by Muslims.”

Building that mosque is a great big, giant raspberry, an extended middle finger, to all Americans, and anyone failing to recognize that is wearing blinders.

Many countries now considered part of the “Muslim world” were overrun just that way.

Egypt, for instance, according to the encyclopedia, “was occupied by Muslim Arabs as early as 640, and since then so many mosques have appeared throughout the country that Cairo is now called ‘the city of a thousand minarets.’”

Mosques in Sicily and Spain, the report says, do not reflect the architecture of the Visigoths who were there before, but that of the Muslim Moors.

When the Muslims take a place over, they do it in the way that’s most effective for the time and place. In a place like Indonesia or Darfur, they do it violently, hacking to death the opposition until the survivors surrender.

In places like England, France and the United States, they do it more stealthily, playing to the population’s fears and desires while arriving in droves and continuing to produce more offspring than the host population – creating a three-front assault with the ever-present threat of Jihadi violence.

They’ve done it in Turkey, in India and all over Europe, according to the encyclopedia.

“Mosques first appeared in the United States in the early twentieth century, the first of which was built in the late 1920s in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. However, as more immigrants continued to arrive in the country, especially from South Asia, the number of American mosques grew,” it says.

Now they plan to build a giant mosque two blocks from Ground Zero, a move the families of the terrorist attack victims strongly oppose, saying such a thing would “defile the memories of those who perished in the worst terror attack in US history.”

Despite this, the Community Board 1 approved the project  29-1 after a contentious four-hour hearing in which nine members abstained, according to the New York Post.

Fortunately, this is not a done deal, even with Bloomberg’s insane acquiescence.

This horrible project still has to win approval of the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission, because the building they want for it would have to be razed, and there’s been a landmark application pending for it since 1989 which was recently reinstated. The commission is scheduled to hold a hearing and a vote in the early summer, the Post reports.

Those pushing for the atrocity say they “are prepared to raise $100 million and hope to accommodate up to 1,500 worshippers on Fridays.”

No big surprise, there.

The Post report also says about 500 people already use the site for prayers – another typical Islamist behavior, like setting up housekeeping in ancient Israel and then repeating like a mantra that the land is “occupied” by the Jews – “in land the Palestinians claim for a state,” news reports always say.

So, now Ground Zero is land the Muslims claim for a mosque, and are, in fact, already using for that purpose.

A spokesperson for the mosque’s proponents said “the mosque will reflect the richness and diversity of New York City, and reflect core American values of freedom of expression and religious faith.”

They’re good, you know? They really know just what to say to butter us up.

Planners say it will serve as a community center not just for Muslims, but for the residents, workers and city visitors of all faiths, according to reports.

If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you, but you’d better hurry, if you want it before it sprouts a minaret.
