Since they have now succeeded in turning America into a beggar state via Obamacare, Democrats have settled on a particularly pernicious strategy. They know that their health care “reform” is hated by most of the American people. They also know that the people will likely fire many of them in November. So, they have decided that the best defense is a good offense: attack those who oppose Obamacare.

Since polling routinely shows that between 52% and 60% loathe the bill and want it repealed, Democrats are now in the weird and politically untenable position of attacking most of the American people. That, of course, has never stopped them before.

Some Democrats are accusing us of acts of violence or threatening them. There may be an infinitesimal few loony tunes engaging in that kind of unacceptable behavior, although we haven’t seen any proof of these threats yet. But the Democrats are dishonestly extrapolating to paint the tens of millions of opponents of Obamacare as wild-eyed wackos.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because the Democrats indeed view us that way. Remember last year at this time? President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security issued a report suggesting that anyone who opposes abortion, illegal immigration and oppressive taxes, supports gun rights, and served in Iraq and Afghanistan should be singled out for special attention. Why? Because we might burst into a spasm of violence at any time. (Never mind the jihadists in Little Rock and at Fort Hood. They’re Muslims. They’re exempt.)

In other words, if you go to church, own a gun, or defend your country, the Democrats consider you an enemy of the state.

Now, if you oppose Obamacare, you are thrown into the same category. According to them: big government progressives equal good patriots. Small government conservatives equal potentially violent nutcases who need to be watched.

And further, in other words: if you oppose the Bama and the Democrats: shut up and sit down.

During the Bush years, liberals loved to say that “dissent was the highest form of patriotism.” Now, they consider dissent the lowest form of treason, to be ostracized and punished as such.

Watch your backs, my fellow Americans. You are considered, by your own leadership, to be enemies of the state.
