These are not the measurements of some alien being.
These are the most recent numbers of Obama’s America:
$14.3 TRILLION: the new national debt ceiling. It was raised a week or so ago.
$1.6 TRILLION: this year’s deficit. The highest in our nation’s history, announced today.
$3.8 TRILLION: The Bama’s new budget, unveiled today.
10%: the unemployment rate.
For all of this spending, not much is happening. Sure, the GDP grew at a 5.7% clip in the last quarter of 2009, but few economists and others expect this to continue. In fact, as part of The Bama’s new budget, he announced he will let expire the Bush tax cuts. That will help to quickly put the kibosh on any new growth—-or job creation.
But realize: the staggering spending spree the Democrats have been on isn’t meant to do either of those things. The out of control spending is meant to do two OTHER things: 1. expand government, and 2. make as many people dependent on the government as possible.
And the ultimate objective of THOSE two things is to create a permanent Democratic majority. So what if the nation slides deeper into the abyss of debt? So what if our country loses ever-more sovereignty to foreign nations holding ever-greater amounts of that debt? So what if the unemployment rate stays high? So what if the Dems lose seats in November? It’s all for a higher calling: of ultimately making the progressive/liberal/Democratic movement the permanent governing class in America.
There is hope. The next national election is in about 9 months. We can stop them then, but it’s going to take every ounce of guts and fortitude we can muster. As Dan Rather(biased) used to say, “Courage.”
