Choice morsels of insanity to drive you crazy today:

1. The Democrats are set to raise the national debt ceiling by over $1.8 TRILLION this week. They’re trying to get it done in a military appropriations bill, so no Republicans could, in good conscience, vote against it. They’re also trying to do it under the cover of holiday darkness, when folks are preoccupied with Santa and Birth of Jesus celebrations. I DON’T THINK JESUS HAD THESE KINDS OF WEASELY MOVES IN MIND. By the way, the current debt ceiling is $12.1 trillion. The Democrats want to raise it to about $14 trillion, BECAUSE $12.1 TRILLION JUST ISN’T ENOUGH.

2. Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was attacked by a mentally disturbed man yesterday as he greeted crowds in Milan. The man got close enough to strike him with a statue, causing facial injuries. A few weeks ago, two random, fame-whoring people waltzed uninvited into a White House State Dinner, and mugged for the Official Photographer with the President and Vice President. Thank goodness nothing serious happened to these leaders, but how do we know they weren’t acting as scouting agents for terrorists or other maniacs? See how close they could get. Well, they got too close. WHERE IS SECURITY?

3. According to Rasmussen Reports today, The Bama is at a record low job approval: 44%. It’s the spending, stupid.

4. Last night’s Oprah Winfrey Special with the Obamas at the White House on ABC: I felt like I was watching Saddam Hussein’s state-run TV.
