In perhaps the most irresponsible decision ever made by an American president in wartime, Obama is moving top al Qaeda terrorists, including 9-11 masterminds Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Ramzi Binalshibh—to New York City to stand trial in civilian courts.

You know it’s a bad decision when even his fellow Democrats are muted in their reaction. Forced at presidential gunpoint into supporting this national security debacle, top Democrats have been less than enthusiastic: Hillary Clinton called it merely “appropriate,” and Senators Leahy and Reed both quietly touted the benefits to our “image around the world” of holding such trials here. They know they’re spouting nonsense, which is why all three looked constipated.

Have you ever served on a jury? If so, you know there’s always at least one jerk. One jerk who wastes time. One jerk who asks for hundreds of pages of testimony read back. One jerk who causes a mistrial. One jerk who wants to acquit or convict when the rest of the jury wants the opposite.

Expect at least one jerk to be on the jury hearing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s case. Don’t think he can be acquitted? Ask O.J. Simpson. And bet on the defense lawyers (a new “Dream Team”) making sure there’s at least one Muslim on the jury, in the hope that he or she, like Major Nidal Malik Hasan, places loyalty to Islam above loyalty to the United States and our system of justice.

In the event of a conviction, expect at least one jerk of a federal judge to let some of the terrorists walk. We have a lot of liberal, jerk judges who let child rapists and murderers walk free all the time. What makes you think a jerk judge won’t find a way to stick it to Bush and Cheney by letting at least one of these terrorists out on some kind of technicality?

There’s always one jerk. In the trials of KSM and the other 9-11 Islamic terrorists, expect more than one jerk.
