The world is through the looking glass, and if you need proof, consider this….
The United Nations General Assembly in New York last week featured several unapologetically anti-Semitic and anti-American world leaders, who were given a platform to spew their poison and most member nations listened.
Only Israel and Canada had the moral fortitude to anticipate what these lunatics were going to say and let it be known in advance they were boycotting the circus.
Then delegations from several other nations — Argentina, Australia, Britain, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand and the United States — walked out in the middle of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s rant against Israel.
And that’s nice. But there are 192 countries in the U.N., and most of them stayed.
The Hitleresque clown accused Israel of “inhuman policies” in the Palestinian territories and of dominating world political and economic affairs in his classically anti-Semitic tirade. And he called, in a speech that could easily be mistaken for something shouted in 1930s occupied Europe, on the world to “respond” — read exterminate the Jews.
“It is no longer acceptable that a small minority would dominate the politics, economy and culture of major parts of the world by its complicated networks, and establish a new form of slavery, and harm the reputation of other nations, even European nations and the U.S., to attain its racist ambitions,” he said.
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion revisited.
And even as most world leaders sat listening to the fantastical rantings of a Jew-hating lunatic — providing the answer to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s rhetorical question (no, they have no shame or decency), tens of thousands of Yemenis are huddled in tents in the rain trying to escape the fighting between the government and Shiite rebels. These civilians are reportedly stranded around the war zone with aid agencies unable to reach them because, for a change, Muslims are creating violence somewhere. And making things worse, other Muslims are robbing relief convoys. This is a true humanitarian crisis, not of its victims’ own making, unlike what goes on in Gaza and the West Bank when Israel is forced to respond to deadly attacks. But no world leader is taking the U.N. podium and railing against Muslims murdering other Muslims. Or Muslims murdering Jews or Muslims murdering Christians. It’s insane. Classical anti-Semitic themes that had all but vanished for the decades following the Holocaust are creeping back in big ways and small. For instance, on the comment board of my local paper, a story about a Lowe’s home improvement store buying some property and building a location in town, elicited this anonymous response:
“Once again you will notice that the owner of the land and the writer for the TH is Jewish so we would have never gotten any real reporting in all aspects of Vallejo interests.”
What’s most scary is that no one on the comment board reacted to this. No one. Had a similar thing been said about blacks or Hispanics, or, God forbid Muslims, the town would have exploded in righteous indignation, and possibly violence. But, it is evidently OK once again, to accuse “the Jews” of all kinds of wild stuff. Deposed Honduran leader Manuel Zalaya for instance, is claiming that “his throat is sore from toxic gases and ‘Israeli mercenaries’ are torturing him with high-frequency radiation.” And Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi regaled the United Nations General Assembly with accusations that the Israelis were behind the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King. The world has also learned recently in an incredible Scandinavian newspaper article that Israelis are hunting Palestinians and stealing their internal organs. It would be laughable if it weren’t for the fact that countless innocent men, women and children have been tortured and murdered throughout history based on wild stories just like this.
“And Hazael said, why weepeth my lord? And he answered, because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.” 2 Kings 8-12.
