At a dinner party a while back I encountered someone who proudly proclaimed, in the context of the conversation we were having, that she was a member of the ACLU.
“Why do you want to take my Christmas away,” I asked. Startled, she said she did not want to take away my Christmas. “Well you better tear up your ACLU card,” I said, “because the war they’ve waged on Christmas so far gives no signs of stopping at the ban on public Nativity scenes and Christmas pageants in schools and Christmas trees.”
Reflecting later I had a mixed reaction, feeling somewhat guilty that I had allowed a bad mood to dictate uncharacteristic rudeness — it’s usually liberals who are rude — but at the same time feeling satisfaction that I had held an individual to account for the actions of her group.
With Americans now facing the greatest threat to our freedoms in history, I believe it’s time to hold accountable the individuals whose votes put a Chavez wannabe in the Oval Office. Every Democrat who elected and still supports Barack Obama should be made to explain why they are destroying the USA. Excuse me, “fundamentally transforming.”
If there are defectors from the Obama camp, I’m not aware of any. Every Democrat I know or have met since last November not only still supports him but does so in zombie-like fashion. It would be so refreshing to hear a Democrat say, “I voted for Obama but I wish he hadn’t done this,” or, “I wish he’d do that.” Hell, Ronald Reagan was and remains my political hero but I didn’t agree with every, single thing he said and every, single thing he did. But the Obama voters I know march in lockstep.
So next time you’re in the presence of an Obama supporter, ask pointblank, “Why are you trying to take away my freedoms?”
“Why do you support a health care plan that is a vehicle for the government to intrude into every aspect of my life?”
“Why are you trying to destroy the free enterprise system?”
“Why do you think it’s fine for the president to be surrounded by advisors, so-called “czars” unaccountable to Congress, whose views in some cases are so extreme their mental health has to be called into question?”
“Why do you believe barbarians who fly airplanes into buildings and cut people’s heads off are worthy of respect?”
“Why do you think America, the greatest force for good in history despite our mistakes and flaws, should apologize to the rest of the world for our existence?”
“Why do you treat our enemies like our friends and our friends like our enemies?”
“Why do you think America, a special country because of the values that form our foundation, is no better than any other country on earth, that we’re just the same as North Korea, for example?”
“Why do you oppose Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East?”
“Why do you think it’s acceptable to call me a racist because I disagree with Obama on policy matters?”
Not, “Why is Obama doing these things?” but, “Why are you? Since you not only voted for Obama but continue to support him, why are you doing this to our country, and what are your answers to my questions.” We can’t ask Obama but we can ask his comrades. Democrats in Congress felt the heat at town hall meetings during the summer, and now individual Obama supporters should feel it to. Let’s make it personal. The rest of us deserve answers.
I would like to think that some of those who still support Obama can be put into the category of, “Forgive them for they know not what they do.” But many see Obama for who he is and still support him. If they say, “It’s because I’m a socialist who hates America too,” then fine, we have an answer.
But freedom-loving Americans deserve some kind of explanation from every Obama supporter participating in the downfall of this country.
