It’s hard to keep up with the stupidity, hypocrisy and lying that emerges from Democratic swamps, but let’s try:
–At a “town hall” meeting in New Hampshire on Tuesday–italicized to express precisely what liberal media types Helen Thomas and CBS’s Chip Reid referred to as “orchestrated,” and “tightly-controlled”–Barack Obama once again revealed how truly clueless he is.
When asked if he thought private insurance could be maintained when forced to compete with government-subsidized policies, he used this analogy: “If you think about it, UPS and Fed Ex are doing fine. It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.”
In other words, two PRIVATE SECTOR, PROFIT MAKING mail delivery companies are doing a better job than the GOVERNMENT RUN, TAXPAYER-SUBSIDIZED Post Office–but America will be better off with government-insured healthcare than that administered by what Democrats call “evil” private sector insurance companies.
The Amateur-in-Chief strikes again.
–Democrats, including the inimitable Nancy Pelosi, have referred to grass-roots opposition to the healthcare bill as “astro-turf” demonstrations, implying that they’re either orchestrated or phony. Really? Then what would one call “Help Wanted” ads on Craigs Lists offering people $11-$16 dollars-an-hour to show up at these meetings in support of the administration’s agenda?
“Shills” or “paid plants” showing up at town hall meetings? What you get for the money. The breath-taking hypocrisy of Democrats? Priceless.
–In New York City, billionaire George Soros and the federal stimulus program are giving away $175 million to “needy kids” at a rate of $200 per child. Bronx resident Alecia Rumph put it best: “It’s free money!” she exclaimed. “Thank God for Obama. He’s always looking out for us.”
Ms. Rumph, Ms. Rumph. “Free money?” It isn’t free at all. It comes from taxpayer contributions to the federal coffers and a socialist billionaire, both willing to bankrupt America to buy people like you with “free money.” And just as a sidebar, where do you think George Soros made his fortune? In the public sector? Try the free enterprise system this administration is doing its best to run into the ground.
–Once again, in direct contradiction to the existing evidence of a 2003 unedited video, Barack Obama denied he was in favor of a single payer universal healthcare system. A direct quote from that video: “I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program.”
He also claimed to have the endorsement of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP): “AARP would not be endorsing a bill if it was undermining Medicare, okay?”
AARPS’s response? “While the President was correct that AARP will not endorse a health care reform bill that would reduce Medicare benefits, indications that we have endorsed any of the major health care reform bills currently under consideration in Congress are inaccurate.”
What’s the politically incorrect term for “inaccurate?” Lying–period.
Finally, a question it would behoove anyone to ask this president, one which has stunningly eluded our intrepid media:
Mr. President, have YOU YOURSELF read the entire healthcare bill?
