Barack Obama’s visit to Israel was short and very busy but Mr. Obama managed to take pleasure in some Dan hospitality in the Royal Suite of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem and enjoyed the health food he had requested, including freshly squeezed orange juice with every meal. Despite his busy schedule Mr. Obama managed to fit in a work-out in the hotel’s gym – getting up at 4.45 a.m. to do so!
The Senator was delighted with his accommodation and when he was presented to the hotel staff asked “Who is responsible for the fantastic view from my Royal Suite?”
He reiterated this question in his inscription of one of his books that he presented to the Head of Delegations on his way out of the hotel, adding “Thank you for the extraordinary hospitality.”
Pictured with him is the hotel’s general manager, Mr. Haim Shkedi in the middle and Head of Delegations, Mr. Sheldon Ritz on the left.
