In news that should come as a surprise to no one, pollsters have found that Democrats are less happy then Republicans. The poll, conducted by the Pew Research Center, found that 37 percent of Republicans are very happy, compared to 25 percent of Democrats. More tellingly, only 9 percent of Republicans are “not too happy,” compared with 20 percent disgruntled Democrats.
Whining of course, it must be allowed, is most strongly associated with liberalism (in the modern sense). If political persuasion were genetically determined, “unfair” would be the first word to come out of the mouth of a liberal toddler. That’s not the power of liberalism of course. This arises from a political-legal system that pays undue heed to the word. The human race has always had moaners, bellyachers and complainers. The institutionalization of such practices is a product of our times and the rise of the lawyer class. The United States has more lawyers than any country on the world. We slam dunk the world when it comes to lawyers. And the largest contributors to the Democratic party? That would be lawyers. All the more reason you will never hear Michael Moore or Barack Obama mention the effect medical malpractice insurance has on the high cost of America’s health care.
