What do liberals fear the most? Having their true agenda revealed prior to an election. That is precisely why the Obama campaign and its media echo chamber have attempted to destroy Joe Wurzelbacher, aka “Joe the Plumber.”
It is ironic that liberals, who consider themselves intellectually superior to ordinary Americans, have completely missed the point regarding Mr. Wurzelbacher. It is not the man himself who resonates. He is nothing more than a symbol for millions of “Joe Plumber Americans” sick to death at the prospect of having their hard-earned wealth “spread around” by the self-professed arbiters of fairness. And their concern is only heightened as they watch an ordinary guy like Mr. Wurzelbacher having his life dragged through the media mud–for no other reason than asking the Anointed One a question that blew the cover off his carefully crafted image.
Memo to the libs: It wasn’t the question Mr. Wurzelbacher asked that snapped a lot of Americans back to reality. It was Barack Obama’s answer to it.
Perhaps it is beginning to dawn on some people that a Harvard-educated LAWYER is quite adept at telling them what they want to hear, irrespective of truth or accuracy. No presidential contender in recent memory has taken more diametrically opposed positions on the issues than Barack Obama. His critics call it flip-flopping. It is not. It is the essence of “legalese.” It is, for example, Barack Obama saying he would “look into” domestic drilling for oil–even when he knows he and his party are in the tank for radical environmentalists.
Such double-speak is the essence of Obama’s campaign success, and no one knows it better than the candidate himself. Mr. Obama knows his exchange with Joe the Plumber was a monumental mistake, a moment of unguarded candor completely at odds with his strategy of speaking in clever generalizations.
And the media know it too. The coordinated attempt to ruin Mr. Wurzelbacher is a damning indication of what Americans can expect from an Obama administration: there will be no toleration of dissenting viewpoints. Those that dare to challenge Mr. Obama’s “vision” will have their entire lives subjected to an exhaustive investigation–the sole purpose of which will be to assassinate the dissenter’s character and subject him or her to national ridicule.
In other words, there’s no limit to the number of Americans who can be “tossed under the bus” in pursuit of a socialist utopia and the further consolidation of power in Washington D.C. The candidate who had the temerity to say “this is the moment we’ve been waiting for” isn’t looking to lead America. He’s looking to run it–and woe to anyone who stands in his way.
That’s what arrogant, “I know better than you do” elitism is all about.
It’s easy dumping on an ordinary Joe, Mr. Obama. Try picking on someone your own size–if you can find someone that small.
