Fred Thompson says he won’t consider the VP nod. Yeah, well, that’s what they all say. What’s more likely is that while he will not pursue it, he would not turn it down, either. It is a high-profile, low-demand job that can launch a man to the presidency. One problem for Thompson of course is that Tennessee will go Republican, so there are other candidate McCain could choose to pump up his support. The other is that after the Obama v. Hillary fight, a Two-White-Men ticket might look a little dusty.
