One in a while, it’s good to vent. And nothing gets me more furious than a majority of Americans being held hostage by a minority of twits who worship at the altar of political correctness. A few examples:
Oil. Oil is now $100 a barrel. Time for a massive effort to become energy independent? Of course not. The environment-above-all twits would rather pay for both ends of the terror war in order to save the caribou in Alaska. Remember that the next time you gas up–or read about another terror organization bankrolled by our Saudi “friends.”
Borders. Our borders remain as porous as ever, and the virtual fence is a high-priced, “high tech” disaster. A PC screwing of gargantuan proportions–and the American public knows it. The PC-ers think they can “finesse” this one by browbeating us with name calling (xenophobia, racism, etc.) or appeals to our “reasonableness.” Flash: if the American people are angry now, imagine what they’ll be like if the economy tanks–even as the waves of low-skilled, uneducated illegals keep flowing into the country.
Global warming. Global warming? Global shakedown is more like it. 2007 is shaping up to be the coldest winter on record, sunspot activity has remained flat for the past nine years, and there’s been no discernible increase in the global temperature in the last eight. Some scientists–as opposed to blow-hard Oscar winners and know-nothing, PC politicians–believe we may be headed for another cooling period. How much money the “climate change” hustlers can scam from the public before the truth reaches critical mass remains to be seen.
The war on terror. Only a moron–or someone who can’t see beyond his politically correct nose–could look at all the acts of terror committed before and after 9/11–and come to the conclusion that terrorism is “an exaggerated threat.” PC-ers still think we can “jaw-jaw” with suicidal maniacs who boast that their principle advantage over us is they love death while we love life. What level of atrocity it would take to blow the cobwebs out of these peoples’ brains is anyone’s guess. 3000 people exterminated in an hour-and-a-half wasn’t enough. Their threshold? 56 million people died in WWll, beginning a year after Neville Chamberlain, the historical epitome of political correctness, secured “peace in our time.” Apparently we have a long way to go.
Columns like this one are the equivalent of shoveling s**t against the tide. Most Americans, in mortal fear of being called names, kowtow to an ever-expanding litany of PC nonsense. One wonders if there is a tripwire, something so outrageously “correct” that the majority of silent-suffering Americans finally say “enough is enough.”
I hope so–which is why I keep shoveling.
