Since last Thursday, Hillary Clinton has shown four dramatically different personalities:
At Thursday night’s Democratic debate, she was Hillary as Grace Kelly: “I am honored to be here.”
Saturday, she was Hillary as Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction: “Shame on you, Barack Obama!”
Sunday, she was Hillary as Don Rickles: “The sky will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing…”
And yesterday, she was Hillary as Girl, Interrupted: “Whoa, ho, ho, no!”
She has alternated between calm composure, faux outrage, real outrage, biting sarcasm, wild laughter, and total denial. This woman, so often compared to Nurse Ratched, may need an actual Nurse Ratched.
Which should make tonight’s Democratic debate all the more interesting. With nothing left to lose, which Hillary will be on display? Will it be Hillary the Professional Assassin? Or Hillary the Broken Candidate? Will she try to hide her scars, pretend they don’t exist? Or will she bare them for the world in a last-ditch sympathy ploy?
Does Hillary as Victim have one more round in her?
