I�ve been reading a lot lately about what appears to be an exodus from Europe by non-Muslims.
They seem to be fleeing in the face of increasing adamance from Europe�s growing Muslim population that the nations of Europe submit to the fundamentalist Islamic will.
That the non-Muslims are leaving tells me they don�t wish to become Muslim or live under Islamic rule. But it also tells me that there�s a pervasive unwillingness to stand up for their right to live as they choose over there. And that wasn�t always the case.
No matter what blame some national leaders place on themselves for their Muslim immigrants not having assimilated, the population knows better. They know the Muslims have no desire to become European. They want Europe to become Muslim.
That�s the plan, and it�s working.
The most frightening and tragic part of what is fast becoming a terrible and possibly irreparable situation, is witnessing Western civilization slink away with its proverbial tail between its legs.
In World Wars I and II, Europeans fought. They joined armies. And even when their governments fell, they joined partisan groups to combat what they knew was evil. They didn�t just lie down or flee.
I think that the United States� willingness and insistence upon acting as Europe�s protector and sponsor since the end of World War II has leached the spirit out of the populace. They�ve become lazy and complacent, and unable to get sufficiently indignant over the rape of their culture by �the other.�
The Islamic enemy is using an interesting and unusual arsenal of weapons to defeat the West, most of it involving using the West�s own freedoms against it, and helping the weight of its own guilt tip the scales in their favor.
Those hoping to see the black cloud of Islam overtake the planet are not above using the specter of the Holocaust to keep their detractors at bay. They draw analogies between what happened to the Jews � the kinds of things anti-Semites said about Jews � and anything negative said or any actions taken to slow the spread of Islam.
The irony of this is breathtaking, of course, since the first thing the Islamo-fascist will do once they�ve taken control, will be to massacre the world�s Jews, and everybody knows it.
That will not be the last thing they do, however, and anyone in the still-free world who doesn�t relish the mental image of living under Sharia law in Belgium, Berlin, Boston or Bakersfield, had better wake up and smell the falafel.
The problem, of course, is that the malady is so massive, and the options so distasteful, that most just ignore it and hope it will go away.
It won�t.
What�s needed is a several-pronged approach, all engaged simultaneously.
We need an alternative energy source, the development of which needs to begin yesterday. Once oil is unnecessary, the money stops flowing and the terrorist funding dries up. As alternative fuel development is accelerated, immigration to the West from Muslim countries must cease completely, and Muslims already in western countries must be removed, at least temporarily, to their nations of origin.
This contains the problem to a wide but definable geographic location.
As it stands now, the infection is within the host and the only way to cure it would be to kill or severely damage the body.
And a way must be devised to weed out intransigent and intolerant Muslims wishing to come to the west to do us harm from those genuinely seeking a better life by coming west and westernizing.
Now, I�m sure I�ll get death threats for making these suggestions, but that�s a symptom of the problem, isn�t it?
