Keep reading this link and you’ll find the numbers on the utter collapse of “The Golden Compass.” Who in Hollywood thinks it’s a good idea to make a family movie released at Christmastime based on an anti-Christian book series? Church-going families don’t go to too many movies, but when they do go, it’s to family pictures. I’d imagine that much of the family-movie audience is church-going, in fact. So this whole effort with the Pullman series was just foolish on a lot of levels.
