On his radio program yesterday, Glenn Beck seemed to take satisfaction from California’s wildfires. He said: “I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today.”   As a conservative, I normally wouldn’t agree with Media Matters, but such a remark is far out of bounds.  It doesn’t even make sense on its own terms.  Beck seems to be assuming that the fires are only burning liberal homes.  But Bush carried five of the seven counties in the wildfire emergency area.
