The three Albanian Duka brothers from Macedonia implicated in the plot to massacre American soldiers at Fort Dix were in the roofing business, and they lived in New Jersey, which is next-door to New York. New York is where the big dog in Albanian roofing lives. His name is Florin Krasniqi, and he was the subject of a 2005 documentary aired on PBS and titled “The Brooklyn Connection.” (Here’s the cast of colorful characters, and here are some clips.)

In addition to raising $30 million for the Kosovo jihad from the Albanian-American community, Krasniqi smuggled high-powered sniper rifles from the U.S. to the al-Qaeda-assisted Kosovo Liberation Army so that it could do more Serb-killing when the time comes, and so the KLA could fight NATO troops when that became necessary.

As Andy Wilcoxson, the only American whom I know to have attended and chronicled the Milosevic trial, wrote:

The Dutch Reporter asks: “It’s going to be war?”

Krasniqi replies: “Hope not, but if it is we’re ready; if not this spring then the next one. If Kosova does not get its independence, there will be a war.”

In case you are unaware of this fact, the only ones in Kosovo that the KLA can have a war with are the UN peacekeeping troops, which include Americans. The Serbs all withdrew in 1999 after the NATO bombing.

These terrorists have already shown that they are not afraid to attack the UN. In September, UCK [KLA] sniper attacks on UN vehicles forced the UN to stop using the Kosovska Mitrovica-Leposavic road between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Credible intelligence indicates that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps, which the U.S. State Department says sponsors terrorism, has been training KLA members and funneling millions of dollars through Bosnia and Albania to buy arms for the KLA.

This was corroborated by Director of the U.S. House Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare Yossef Bodansky in a report for Defense and Foreign Affairs Strategic Policy:

“In the Fall of 1997, the uppermost leadership in Tehran ordered the IRGC [Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps] High Command to launch a major program for shipping large quantities of weapons and other military supplies to the Albanian clandestine organizations in Kosovo. [Ayatollah] Khamene’i’s instructions specifically stipulated that the comprehensive military assistance was aimed to enable the Muslims ‘to achieve the independence’ of the province of Kosovo,” says the report.

(Aside: Secrtary of State Condoleezza Rice met this week with the Albanian foreign minister regarding the promising outlook for Albania’s membership into NATO.)

Krasniqi helps resettle Albanians in America, setting them up with jobs, often in roofing. Though the Dukas came to America before Krasniqi did (Krasniqi was smuggled into the U.S. in 1988 and the Duka brothers in 1984, both via the Mexican border), the chances that Krasniqi and the Duka brothers never crossed paths are slim.

This could be significant because, as The Vanishing American Blog points out in a post titled “Of Politicians and Plotters of Terror”, Krasniqi has contributed to the political campaigns of John Kerry, Wesley Clark, John McCain, Henry Hyde “and none other than Tom Lantos, who is now promising a Moslem state in the heart of Europe [Kosovo].”

In the film, Krasniqi and some of his KLA roofers are seen at a Kerry fundraiser joking around with Wesley Clark and Clinton-era Asst. Secretary of State Richard Holbrooke (who was to be Kerry’s Secretary of State).

Mickey Bozinovich at Serbianna.com writes that supposedly Krasniqi still gives money to Lantos as well as to Lantos’ daughter’s 2008 Senate campaign in New Hampshire (Katrina Swett). As well, KLA money also continues to flow to

John McCain, Joseph Leiberman and Joseph Biden — all supporters of Kosovo independence, an illegal stand that seeks to dismember a democracy, namely Serbia, in order to have an independent state where more of these terrorists will attack America.

Back in 1998, however, Krasniqi went to Pakistan to make weapons purchases, and Pakistan is one of the al-Qaeda nests. According to the latest book by Pakistani President Musharaff, Muslims consider war in Kosovo a Jihad.

At one point during the fundraising Krasniqi called on to Wesley Clark to come join, both exuberant, telling Clark to shake hands because “This is your KLA”. Clark did not object to being identified as owner of [a] terrorist group.

It would be interesting to find whether any of the arrested Muslim Albanians on the Fort Dix terror plot were ever a KLA? Were they ever employed by Krasniqi? Were they at the Kerry fundraising?

Clark and the other pols know that these are dangerous men, and they know what could happen if they don’t deliver on the Kosovo promise that the Albanians paid them for. I’ve observed in the past that the way in which Clark addresses the National Albanian American Council — always careful to say “Kosova” rather than “Kosovo” — and the dutifulness in the tone of his op-eds on the subject betray an awareness by this four-star general that he is serving his masters. This partly explains the desperation that guides American foreign policy in Kosovo. So far, only a European has been willing to admit it, as I wrote last week:

During a February mission to Brussels led by Kosovo Bishop Artemije, after getting the usual empty assurances that there will be guarantees of human rights and protections for Kosovo’s Serb minority, American Council for Kosovo director Jim Jatras asked a Hungarian member of the European parliament, “Isn’t all this talk of protections for Serbs a tacit admission that among the Kosovo Albanians are a lot of violent and intolerant people? Why would you reward their violence with state power?”

Looking Jatras in the eye, the parliamentarian replied, “Because we’re afraid of them.”
