Doug Feith has a pointed and, in many respects, devastating book review of former CIA director George Tenet memoir “At the Center of the Storm” in today’s Wall Street Journal.
Feith won’t admit that he did exaggerate the connections between al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein, which he presents as a purely disinterested inquiry. But his comments about Tenet–his prose is “humdrum”–and his boast that he operates from the “gut,” which Feith notes is odd coming from someone “whose stock-in-trade should be acuracy and precision.”
What Feith’s piece really demonstrates, however, is that the sniping among the foreign policy mavens of the Bush administration has begun in earnest and is not likely to end any time soon.
