CNN.com reports that Senators John Kerry and Christopher Dodd met with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad on Wednesday and “challenged Syria’s government to play a more constructive role in the region.”

You think maybe we could start with a less destructive role first? I mean, asking Syria to play a more constructive role in the region is like asking Michael Jackson to help reform a troubled daycare center. Or asking Bill Clinton to help reform Congress’s internship program.
