Media pundits are wringing their hands because one of Nancy Grace’s “guests” committed suicide last week after a grueling interview by Nancy.
It was business as usual on Headline news and I speak with authority having guest hosted the show at least five times myself. Sadly, young Florida mother Melinda Duckett came on the program to answer questions about her missing two year old boy and then apparently devastated by the interview, she shot herself moments before her interview aired.
But can you really blame the angry Southern blonde for Melinda’s act of free will?
Read the transcript to see that Melinda’s story did not hold together. She hemmed and hawed when asked if she agreed to a polygraph and couldn’t remember her actions on the day her child disappeared. Grace kept pressing the young lady, as did her panel, who even implied Duckett was hiding something.
Personally, I tell my kids they will never get away with lying to me because as an ex-prosecutor who cross-examined many lying felons I can smell a fib, omission or prevarication a mile off. Clearly, Ms. Grace’s training has conditioned her to react to what she perceives to be an untruth.
Nancy Grace merely did what she does best and that’s pointing the finger on prime time to keep us watching. It’s not elegant, but neither is the WWF.
